the fake dip

Posted by Picasa
This is the first print I made in printmaking. I had only been married for a couple of months, and a lot rotated around my wedding and newlywed life. I used a picture from our wedding to base this off of. It is horrible, but I am having a horrible time remembering the name for what kind of etching this was. There are a lot more types than you think. I think it was called "soft" something. I know we used acid to etch the lines into the plate. Argh! Anyways. I called this "the fake dip" because it was a completely posed picture that made it look like we might have been dancing. Which of course we didn't do seeing that we are nice little conservative A/G people. Even though I often regret that we didn't. But we didn't because my parents said that they would not have anything to do with something like that. And it was much cheaper to have the reception at the church anyways. Oh well. Life goes on, and we still had an incredible wedding.
