Okay, so Joey is sick. He has been having trouble with his allergies and has been taking Zicam which helps a bit. His eyes are always the worst part, they swell shut over night and it takes awhile for the swelling to go down and allow him to see again in the mornings.
So this morning I was ready for church and so was Gabbie. I had even made biscuits and we had a nice breakfast, all while Joey dozed. Finally it was time to walk out the door and he was still in bed, I went and snapped at him, "You need to be up and ready, right now!" Like he was suddenly going to turn into a Sim that could spin around and be ready to dash out the door to church. Poor guy, he nearly started crying. His eyes were so bad he could barely see anything, light was blinding him, Kleenex were stewn over the bed and in general he felt like crud. So I was ready to just stay home and be miserable, but Gabbie was already looking forward to "chuch" and she helped get me out the door, without Daddy.
Church was nice, and afterwards we headed to the store for drugs for daddy and sandwich stuff for us. Annoyance number two. Missouri has passed a law making it required to keep allergy meds behind the pharmacy counter. While I understand why they do this and it is supposed to keep us safer, today it was annoying. Why? Because it is Sunday and the store I went to has their pharmacy CLOSED on Sundays. There was some Benadryl and generics on the shelf. All of which we have at home. I was hoping for some Claritin or Chlor-Tabs. I just sat and stared at the empty shelf, wondering what to do, I was not about to go hunting down a Walgreens. Then on the top shelf there sat a lone bottle of Children's liquid Claritin. I got it. I don't know if the dosage will be quite right for my big man, but I sure hope it does something! The benadryl he took this morning still has him knocked out on the couch.
On a side note, another annoyance, Gabbie leaving the nursery with a very dirty diaper on. Apparently they had never checked or changed her. That is irritating. They had had her in there for almost 2 hours. And she stunk! Arggh!
Okay, I'm done now!
