Have you ever wondered why it is that the people you love the most are also the people that make you the maddest? I find this very interesting. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the people you love the most you also spend a lot of time with, and the more time you spend with them, the more likely you will irritate each other and are more likely to make each other mad!
It is amazing how my 2 year old can melt my heart completely. Like last week when I cried 3 times in one day about how beautiful and sweet she was. (Most of that time was while she was sleeping!) It is amazing how wonderful it feels when they cuddle up to you and want hugs and hold on to like you are their only lifeline. Then thirty minutes later they are yelling at you that they want "mac-n-cheez!" and you are telling them "NO" for the umpteenth time that day. They throw a fit, or bury their head in a chair and cry and your blood begins boiling and you wonder how much more you can take. You want to hold them then too, but you wonder, will that be giving into the tantrum? Should you just make them the lunch they want or demand that they eat something healthy, like yogurt and fruit? Oh the lines that have to be drawn, the discipline that has to be issued. But you do it, because you Love them!
Sometimes you darling husband will irritate you so bad that you hope they do stay out that night so you don't have to be nice and cook dinner for them. Then they call you on the phone and apologize, or say something funny, or bring you home your favorite snowcone, and suddenly you realize . . . oh yeah, that is why I love him! Yes they make me mad, but they also love me, and I love them, and they know better than everyone else! They are family, its the best.
