Gabbie loves elephants. Really, she does. She talks about them all the time. She thinks they are hilarious! Well, in Baby Einstein movies they are! So are zebras, and occassionally monkeys. Then she saw an episode of Lil' Bill the other day, and he made elephant noises like Gabbie does and waved his arm like a trunk. Great, just feed this obsession!
She also loves snuffalufagus from Sesame Street, because after all, he is just a big hairy elephant with no ears, right? She wants to "watchey elephants" all the time. Of course this could mean a number of movies that we own! Then if we don't pay attention, she make elephant noises, and if that isn't enough convincing, she yells "elephants!" makes the noise and shows us her trunk! She is funny, my little girl. She makes me laugh, she makes herself laugh!
Today at lunch she was remembering going to the zoo, and told us all about the "jaffs (giraffes), and tigers, and bee-baws (zebras) and monkeys!" Too bad the elephants were not on exhibit. They will be this fall in their new paddock, which looks fantastic! I'm sure they will be happy with their new home! And I can't wait to take my little elephant back to the zoo to meet some of her "cousins"!
