Yesterday I had cabin fever. Again. It feels like that everyday now. Yet I hate going outside because I think our 70* house is too hot at the moment! Argghh!
I spent most of yesterday morning timing contractions, only to have them disappear again. Yeah, Davy is going to stay inside forever! At least it feels that way some days.
By yesterday afternoon I was ready to do something fun, and I convinced Amber to go swimming with me and Gabbie at her apartment's pool. By this time it was still hot out, but not super sunny and past prime time to sunburn.
I got out the maternity bathing suit and let Gabbie wear a romper and panties, her granny is bringing her a new swimsuit when she comes. I lather her arms and legs and face and neck with sunscreen. I used the kid stuff. We go and swim for half and hour, the pool is completely in the shade, and the water felt great! Okay, Amber froze, I thought it was amazing, and I'm sure with all of Gabbie's splashing she didn't notice it not being bathtub warm. We had fun and Gabbie cried when we left, of course, she is two after all.
Then this morning when she woke up I noticed her cheeks were pink, too pink. She is sunburned! The only thing I can think is that it was the type of sunscreen that has to be applied way ahead of water or sun exposure. Who knows. Poor thing, her face is hot to the touch, but not bad. She has one spot on the back of her neck, and lots of freckles appearing! But she also has a rash that is only in all the spots that I put sunscreen. Oh my word. Now she is also allergic to the sunscreen that I did use! Poor baby girl, she has such sensitive skin! Next time we will be even more careful!
