Gabbie-isms

There are so many things that happen during the day that I think, "Oh, that is blogworthy, I need to remember that." And a few minutes later, POOF! It's gone, never to be captured again. Argh. Why can't I remember things anymore! Did Gabbie and Davy destroy that many brain cells? Maybe. And I think it might only get worse. I keep telling myself it is just the hormones from nursing. Or something like that.

Gabbie got in trouble today. More serious trouble than normal. She made Davy cry by poking him with the wand of a swiffer duster. If you have one of these, you know that the blue wand part, when not covered by the fluffy duster head, is rather like a fork, and very pokey. Gabbie found one and began poking Davy, while I was busy sorting laundry. This came to my attention when Davy cried out in contempt at his big sister. Big sister got in major trouble. And you know what? She then became the sweetest most loving little girl the rest of the day. Thank God. Maybe it was just an instance where she needed the line drawn in the sand, and once she saw it, she became reasonable again. But I also know better than to think that this will be the last time, or even close to it.

Later this afternoon Joey was home for a little while to grab a bite to eat, and sat down to watch The Children of Dune. If you have ever seen this series, or the prequel Dune, you will know that giant worms on this desert planet produce valuable "spice." Well in the scene Gabbie saw they were capturing one of the giant worms, full of mulching teeth and writhing in the sand. For some reason she decided this was a "hippo!" and asked questions about the "hippo" and all of it's teeth. Then tonight before bed, she kept begging to watch more "hippo" and I told her "no." Imagine that.
